Just like most professions, there’s a range of skill levels among dentists based on type of advanced education, training, and philosophy of patient care. The Dawson Academy is an advanced dental education facility where dentists teach dentists to be better dentists.

Founded by Dr. Peter Dawson, The Dawson Academy teaches the Concept of Complete Dentistry. Although more time consuming for dental practices, Complete Dentistry results in more consistent, predictable and healthy outcomes for your oral health.

Dr. Dawson is one of the most respected and honored dentists in the history of dentistry. With a passion for teaching dentists to do it “right”, he developed the Concept of Complete Dentistry to provide patients with healthy, beautiful smiles that would function properly and serve them comfortably for the rest of their lives. With two best-selling books on the Concept of Complete Dentistry, Dr. Dawson has influenced tens of thousands of dentists to pursue a better outcome for their patients.

What is a Complete Dentist?

At The Dawson Academy, dental professionals like Dr Cullen learn to examine and treat teeth as part of the overall oral system, not just as standalone elements. This unique approach helps dentists identify causes of problems, rather than simply treating the symptoms.

For example, you may have a chipped tooth you would like repaired. The Dawson Academy’s philosophy teaches dentists to not only repair the tooth but determine the underlying cause(s) that led to the chipped tooth in the first place. This comprehensive approach to treatment of dental problems results in long-term stability, optimal oral health and beauty – that lasts.

In addition to hands-on clinical treatments, The Dawson Academy teaches dentists to treat each patient individually. Every patient receives a thorough examination so the dentist can better understand the patient’s specific wants and needs. This examination will provide you and your dentist with a complete picture of what is going on in and around your teeth, so that a comprehensive treatment plan can be developed. New Patients are Welcome

We offer custom care for every patient. We equip our patients with the knowledge and tools they need to create healthy habits and prevent decay and other complications.

New patient examination

Your initial consultation will be booked with Dr. Brian Cullen for 1.15 hours. During this appointment, you will have a thorough clinical examination, a series of X-rays and clinical photos taken and a digital scan taken of your teeth.

Second opinion

We are happy to provide a second opinion for which we will provide a written report.

Young Children

We are happy to see young children at any age, however, we like to start checking the teeth at around 2 years old. We find that most children enjoy coming in and all are rewarded with a sticker.

Six Year olds and above

This age group should now be comfortable with coming to the dentist. A full preventive programme will be tailored to each child including diet advice, tooth brushing, fissure sealants, custom fitted gum shields, scale and polishing and fluoride treatments.

General Dentistry

A comprehensive dental exam will be performed by your dentist at your initial dental visit.

On your first visit to Oxshott Dental, please bring any dental insurance forms to be completed by Oxshott Dental. All fees are still collected on a private basis and the patient will reclaim monies owed to them from the Insurance Provider.
