Wrinkle relaxing injections commonly known as Botox, are the world’s most popular anti-ageing procedure due to their effectiveness at reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles caused by muscle contractions.
Wrinkle relaxing injections (Botox) is effective for treating: fine lines and wrinkles including “crow’s feet”, frown lines and horizontal forehead lines.
Wrinkle relaxing injections work by blocking the chemical in the skin responsible for muscle contraction thereby temporarily smoothing out wrinkles.
What does the treatment involve?Following a full consultation at a separate appointment we will analyse your face and administer wrinkle relaxing injections directly into the muscle that causes the wrinkles.
Does it hurt? The procedure is largely pain free other than the slight pricking of the needle. You may experience some soreness in the injection sites immediately after treatment but this is usually short lived.
What happens after treatment? We suggest you avoid strenuous exercise or any activity that may increase the blood pressure to your face for at least 24 hours. How long before I see results? Results are generally visible after 4 days and peek at 10 days. We ask our patients to attend a follow up appointment 2 weeks post procedure to ensure we have achieved the best possible results. The benefits will usually last for 3-4 months. What are the risks and complications? All non-invasive procedures carry a small amount of risk which is why they are only administered after a face to face consultation when a full assessment including medical history is carried out and a full list of cautions and contra-indications is discussed.
Are wrinkle relaxing injections my only option? We also offer Dermal Filler injections, which may be more suitable for certain areas of the face.
Dermal fillers are a popular procedure which helps to fill out and smooth away lines, wrinkles, frown lines and “crow’s feet”.
Keeping your face smooth and supple is no easy task. Wrinkles form as our skin gets more mature and less elastic, and the sun does its fair share of damage too.
Fillers are a quick and convenient way to smooth out those lines on the forehead and around the eyes and mouth without any need for surgery and can last 6-9 months.
How does it work?Dermal fillers replenish the natural collagen and hyaluronic in our skin and in doing so replace lost volume and plump out wrinkles.
At Oxshott Dental we believe in replacing lost volume, not adding volume that wasn’t there in the first place. You will leave the clinic looking refreshed and rejuvenated.
What does the treatment involve?Small quantities of dermal filler are injected into the areas where you have wrinkles, furrows, or loss of volume. Juvederm has an anaesthetic incorporated in to it thus avoiding unnecessary discomfort.
Are Dermal Fillers safe?Yes, as long as they are administered by a trained medical practitioner who is experienced in the anatomy of the face. The hyaluronic acid gel is completely natural and over time is broken down and assimilated back into the body causing no harm.
What are the risks and complications? All non- invasive procedures carry a small amount of risk which is why they are only administered after a face to face consultation when a full assessment including medical history is carried out and a full list of cautions and contraindications discussed.
